Hubert Archer "Pop" Anderson Sr., age 89, of Darlington, MD, passed away on September 29, 2013 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Street, MD, he was the son of the late William Burton and Nellie Corine Duff Anderson and husband, for 54 years, of the late Margaret Romaine Perry Anderson. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during WWII. He attended Dublin High School and had worked for 15 years as a truck driver for S&G Concrete. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Darlington and, for over 50 years, was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church in Dublin. He took care of everyone else and was still mowing his own grass.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his daughter, Deborah L. Thompson of Bel Air; sister, Evelyn Mae Hall of Darlington; four grandsons and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his son, Hubert A. Anderson Jr. and his brother, William Anderson.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Thompson Sr., Jereme Thompson, John Thompson, Brian Anderson, Thomas Thompson Jr., Jacob Thompson and Josh Anderson.
