Homer B. Patrick

November 16, 1913 — February 14, 2007

Homer Burke Patrick, 93, of Bel Air, MD, died on February 14, at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Forest Hill, following a heart attack. He was born in Honacker, Virginia on November 16, 1913, the son of the late Lonnie Vill and Helen R. Fogleman Patrick. Mr. Patrick was predeceased by his wife, Peggy in 2005. They were married in 1937.

The Patrick’s lived in Dublin for over 65 years and made many lifelong friends there. In 2005, they sold their home and moved to Bel Air.

Mr. Patrick graduated from Dublin High School in 1931 and served in the Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the 17th Airborne Infantry and flew with the 194th Glider Infantry over the Rhine River.

After returning home, he was employed at Edgewood Arsenal and Aberdeen Proving Ground. He and his wife toured many of the countries he had been stationed in and enjoyed visiting friends and different sites in the United States. He was an avid reader.

Although they did not have children of their own, they were involved in the lives of their nieces and nephews. Their wisdom and love has left a valuable impression on those lives that will never be forgotten.

Mr. Patrick is survived by four brothers, Hubert Patrick of Bel Air, MD, George Patrick of White Hall, MD, Carl Patrick of Georgia, and Harold Patrick of Georgia; a sister-in-law, Hazel Osborne of Bel Air, MD; a godchild, Michael Moxley of Churchville, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Patrick was predeceased by a sister, Erlene Hash, two brothers, Guy Patrick and Robert Patrick, and a godchild, Holly Affleck.

Pallbearers will be: George Miller, Mark Anderson, LCPL Sean Anderson, Mark Testerman, Eddie Testerman, and Reeves Testerman, Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be: Chris Miller.
