Hettie M. Craig

October 29, 1910 — February 9, 2008

HETTIE M. CRAIG, age 97, of Edgewood, MD, died on February 9, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Copper Hill, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Marchel and Anne Cora Nichols Reed and wife of the late James A. Craig. During WWII she was employed at Martin Marietta in Middle River as a Rosie the Riveter. She and her husband owned and operated Craig's Grocery in Edgewood where she retired after 17 years. She was a great story teller and was known for her sense of humor. An avid fisherman, she enjoyed gardening, playing cards and was an Orioles fan. She was a very good cook and also enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Craig is survived by a daughter, Hilda M. Workinger of Edgewood, MD; ten grandchildren, Carol A. Gregory and her husband, Billy, of Andrews, NC, Carolyn W. Colburn and her husband, Edward, of Havre de Grace, MD, Joan E. Harris and her husband, C. Gary, of Edgewood, MD, Ralph W. Roberson III of Abingdon, MD, Kathleen A. Roberson of Andrews, NC, Paul M. Workinger Jr. and his wife, Connie, of Havre de Grace, MD, Janet L. Roberson of Dublin, MD, Norma J. Cooper of Abingdon, MD, Ann M. Phillips and her husband, Donald, of Edgewood, MD, and Angela J. Workinger and her companion, David Phillips of Abingdon, MD; twelve great-grandchildren, Donna L. Zeisberg of Elkton, MD, Robert R. Nichols of Elkton, MD, Curtis E. Nichols of Aberdeen, MD, Clifford G. Harris Jr. of Bel Air, MD, Laree C. Gillespie of Elkton, MD, Bryan S. Harris of Edgewood, MD, Kristin C. Farmer of White Marsh, MD, James R. Roberson of Street, MD, Dean L. Cooper of Havre de Grace, MD, Christina E. Cooper of Havre de Grace, MD, Courtney M. Roberson of Joppa, MD, and
Morgan A. Phillips of Edgewood, MD; ten great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mildred E. Roberson; four brothers, five sisters, and a grandson, Jimmy H. Roberson.

Pallbearers will be Bryan S. Harris, Clifford G. Harris Jr., Mark D. Zeisberg, Paul M. Workinger Jr., Ralph W. Roberson III, and Donald D. Phillips Jr.
