There is a time when a wonderful chapter in life is written. On November 3, 1929, God authored and dedicated this chapter to Mabel and William F. Tittle, Sr. in Rocks (Jarrettsville), Maryland. The title was a special blessing called Hermoine Romaine Horsey.
Hermoine was educated through the Harford County Schools and graduated from the Historic Bel Air Colored High School. She attended Cortez Peters Business School and in retirement pursued nursing. Hermoine worked at Edgewood Arsenal as an Editor in the Publications Department and retired from Edgewood Arsenal in 1985 with over 30 years of service.
Hermoine enjoyed a 49 year marriage of bliss to the late Maurice Leroy Horsey, Jr. Together they were active members of St. Margaret Church in Bel Air, Maryland. She dedicated her life to providing geriatric care for many family members and friends. Life is a journey back to God, and our relationships are the road we travel. It is a path we easily talk about, but difficult to live. She lived it. Everyone who knew her knew how much shed loved her brothers and sisters, nieces, and nephews, aunts and uncles, the family, her friends and the community. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid community volunteer and belonged to the Jarrettsville Swedish Walkers.
There is a time when a wonderful chapter in life has to be closed. On November 24, 2010 at 4:00pm God closed the final chapter in Hermoine Romaine Horsey's life at age 81.
Hermoine was preceded in death by her sister Mary Williams, brothers George W. Tittle, and Richard H. Tittle; Brother-in-laws: James Williams, Sr., Fraser Williams and Alfonso Brown; Sister-in-laws: Mary Ellen Tittle, Vivian Fox and Jean Moore.
Hermoine's memory will live on in the hearts of her four children: Maurice Leroy Horsey, III (Judy), Edmund Albert Horsey, LTC. Maria Romaine Miller (Gregory), Armondo Augustin Horsey (Rupali); Four grandsons: Maurice L. Horsey, IV (Irish), Ian Hinton Horsey, Gregory Miller, Jr (T'ara), and Quentin A. Miller; Two Great-Granddaughters: Mauri Elle Horsey and Morgan Reese Horsey; Two Great-Grandsons: Maurice Leroy Horsey, V and Jordan Carlos-Barr; Brothers and Sisters: William F. Tittle, Jr., Clarence B. Tittle (Shirley Marie), Eva T. Brown, and Mabel T. Williams; Sister-in-Laws: Jeanette Tittle and Shirley Lee Tittle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hills were hard to climb,
So He gently closed Her loving eyes
And whispered "Peace be thine."
The weary hours, the days of pain,
The sleepless nights have passed.
The ever patient worn out frame
Has found sweet rest at last.
