Herman Kahl, age 90, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on June 14, 2017 at his home. Born in Fullerton, Maryland, he was the son of John P. and Catherine G. (Trewper) Kahl. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during World War II aboard the USS Denver CL-58. He retired from CJ Langerfelder and was a proud member of Local Union #37 Operating Engineers of Baltimore. He was a lifetime member of the VFW #6506 Rossville and American Legion #130 Perry Hall. He enjoyed dancing, spending time with his wife and a nice cold beer.
Mr. Kahl is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joan Eleanora Kahl; daughters, Vicky Poole and husband, Frank, of Baltimore and Michele Flowers and husband, Brian, of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Nicki Richardson of Bel Air, Derek Strickland and Tiffany Phillips both of Aberdeen; great-grandchildren, Cierra, Will, McKenzie, Aiden and McKylee; nephew, Gary Kahl of Kingsville; and daughters from a previous marriage, Linney, Cathy and Joanne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Kahl.
