HERMAN AYRES, age 84 of Street, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on September 25, 2004. Born in Rocks, he was the son of the late Charles and Susan Lutz Ayres. He had retired after 36 years of service at Aberdeen Proving Ground where he worked as an artillery repairman. He had also worked at Fishers Nursery in Kingsville and had worked on the Ma and Pa Railroad prior to going to work at APG. He enjoyed baseball and gardening. He served his country in the Army during WWII.
Mr. Ayres is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred H. Martin Ayres; three sons, Robert M. Ayres and his wife, Pat of Havre de Grace; Donald R. Ayres and his wife, Terri of Street; Ronald J. Ayres and his wife, Kim of Street; two daughters, N. Jean Moore and her husband, Andy of Jarrettsville; Linda M. Hamby and her husband, Buddy of Street; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Chuck Moore, Keith Moore, Marty Ayres, Billy Hamby, Cole Ayres, Drew Ayres, and Joey Ayres.
