Herbert Thomas Nelson

Herbert Thomas Nelson, age 79, of Bowie, Maryland passed away on January 12, 2021 at his home. Born in Johnson City, Tennessee, he was the son of Herbert and Elizabeth (Murray) Nelson. He had a private practice as an immigration attorney with Nelson Immigration and was a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bar Associations. He was a longtime member of Davidson Dance Club and Mt. Oak Fellowship United Methodist Church.

Herbert is survived by his wife of 7 years, Wilma Sackett Nelson; daughters, Denielle Strader (Phillip), Katrina Nelson (Eric Tecosky) and Meghan Brayton (Douglas); stepdaughters, Tamara Riddell and Dale Spielman; stepsons, Daniel Riddell and Shawn Riddell; grandchildren, Colton & Case Strader and Elsie & Rorie Brayton, 13 step-grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and sister, Elizabeth Sue Kochel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Emaline Nelson, Patricia Mueller and Gayle Hamilton.
