Herbert N. Pace, Sr.

Herbert N. Pace Sr., age 79, of Abingdon, MD, died on May 12, 2009 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD. Born in Pickens, SC, he was the son of the late Clarice O. and Annie Louise Grant Pace. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during WWII. He was a resident of Harford County since 1975 and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he has served as deacon and on the finance committee. He worked at Dur A Pac and Vac Pac of Baltimore for 26 years and enjoyed traveling, especially to Pennsylvania on the weekends.

Mr. Pace is survived by his wife, Nancy Frances Welch Pace of Abingdon, MD; sons, Richard Pace of Greensboro, NC, Herb Pace Jr. and Craig Pace, both of Bel Air, MD; daughter, Betsy Cox of Bel Air, MD; brother, Joseph O. Pace of Easley, SC; sister, Elizabeth Watt of Pickens, SC; nine grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Jason Pace, Justin Pace, Jon Pace, Philip Pace, Joe Pace, Danny Looper, Howard Oaks and Steve Wampler. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Walls, James Green, Glen Burr, John Bledsoe, Jim Siler and Richard Weih.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 2106 Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21015.
