Henry Stanley Sebula, age 85, of Joppa, Maryland passed away on October 15, 2022, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Bonk) Sebula. Also, proceeding him in death are his sisters, Florence Pichnarczyk, Eleanor Zur, and Carol Sebula.
Henry married the love of his life, Rosemary Miele, on September 12, 1959. He had been in Harford County since 1965.Henry was a graduate of Ferris High School of Jersey City and Seton Hall University of South Orange, New Jersey earning a BS in Business Administration. He retired in January 1997 after 40-year career working for Western Electric/AT&T in Hunt Valley, MD retiring as a Division Manager in Contract Management and Finance. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served as a medic in the U.S. Army’s 4th Armored Division in the 1960s. He was a past member of the Joppatowne Lion's Club, First People's Council, Board of Education Advisory Board and appointed to several commissions by many public officials. He was also an adjunct professor teaching Accounting at Harford Community College. Henry was also active in Holy Spirit Church in Joppatowne as a lay minister. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, sightseeing, football, baseball, basketball and especially boating with his family and friends. He had a strong zest for living, a raucous sense of humor and sense of community which endeared him to many, even strangers who had just met. He also was a devoted father, husband and family man who extended those gifts to those outside of his family and brought joy to many. One of his favorite quotes was: “Life Doesn’t Come with An Instruction Book. That’s Why We Have Fathers.”
Henry is survived by his wife Rosemary Elaine Sebula; son, Paul Michael Sebula of Centreville, VA; and daughter, Diane Frances Sebula of Columbia, MD and several cousins, nieces and nephews across the country.
