Henry Raymond Sulkowski

January 26, 1920 — May 21, 2006

HENRY RAYMOND SULKOWSKI, age 86, of Bel Air, died in Harford Memorial Hospital on May 21, 2006. Born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Eugene and Valeria Sulkowski. He worked as a chemical engineer. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 45 and a 32nd degree. He retired as a Lieutenant of the Naval Reserve in 1966. He served his country as a naval aviator in WW II and Korea from the carriers the U.S.S. Antietam and the U.S.S. Valley Forge. He received several medals and citations while in the service. He was also a member of the VFW Post 14000 and the American Legion Post 0945. He enjoyed attending air shows and was proud of rebuilding his F4U4 Bent Wing Corsair that he flew in Korea. He was a member of Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air.

Mr. Sulkowski is survived by his wife, Elizabeth E. Sulkowski; one son, Henry Eugene Sulkowski and his wife, Margaret, of Bel Air; one daughter, Sandra Gilbert of Abingdon; two brothers, Dr. Robert Sulkowski and his wife, Jo, of Pennsylvania, Col. (Ret.) Milton Sulkowski and his wife, Mary Jane, of Alabama; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Sulkowski of Canansburg, PA; three grandchildren, Dennis Henry Sulkowski and his wife, Kelly, of Bel Air, David Frances Sulkowski and his wife, Kathy, of Bel Air, and Melissa E. Sheme of Abingdon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene Sulkowski and Sigmund Sulkowski and his wife, Phoebe.
