Henry Karl Stoecker, age 77, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on July 26, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Henry and Marie (Delospedale) Stoecker and husband of Marianne Stoecker.
In his early years, Henry (preferred to be known as Karl) would often spend time with his friends, playing practical jokes that deepened their friendship and drove them a bit crazy in equal measure. He loved great conversations and could entice even the shyest person to open up and feel valued.
If you needed a favor, Henry wouldn’t hesitate to offer to help. He often stopped by the side of the road and if there was a broken-down vehicle, he’d make sure everyone was taken care of.
Henry loved the beach and spent many weekends in Ocean City Maryland with his family. He loved crabbing, the water and was affectionately known as ‘the Captain’ as you could often find him steering a pontoon boat around the bay.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne Stoecker; son, Marc Stoecker; daughter, Karen Glynn and her husband J.P.; grandson, Eric Stoecker; and sister, Deborah Schulkin.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
