Helen Virginia Fender

HELEN V. FENDER, age 71, of Birch Tree, Missouri, formerly of Level, died on May 23, 2007 in Houston, MO. Born on February 7, 1936 in Pylesville, MD, she was the daughter of the late George Douglas and Sadie Heaton Sherman. Helen graduated from Havre de Grace High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to her husband, Joseph C. Fender, on July 20, 1961 in Churchville, MD. While living in Harford County, she worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground. She later worked for the Fire and Rescue Training through the University of Maryland Fire School. After moving to Missouri, she was employed at St. Francis Hospital in the Medical Records Department. She was a member of Mountain View First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Fender is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Fender, of Birch Tree, MO; her children, Michael H. Burns of Mount Vernon, IN, Cindy L. Spittler and husband, Buddy, of Mountain View, MO, Theresa M. Caudill and husband, Randy, of Aberdeen, MD, Timothy C. Fender and wife, Kris, of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Wayne Fender of Darlington, MD and Kevin Fender of Perryville, MD; her grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Boyd and husband, Adam, of Mount Vernon, IN, Adam Burns of Houston, TX, Joey, Shauna and Tyler Spittler of Mountain View, MO, Bert and Chris Caudill of Aberdeen, MD, Zachary, Austyn and Hunter Fender of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Livia Fender of Havre de Grace, MD and Paris Fender of Perryville, MD; two great-granddaughters, Valeri and Halen Boyd of Mount Vernon, IN; one brother, Robert D. Sherman and wife, Carol, of Bel Air, MD; and one sister, Jeanne Klein and husband, Charles, of Street, MD.

Pallbearers were Chris Caudill, Zachary Fender, Steve Klein, Austin Picker, Larry Tibbs and John Sherman.
