Helen V. Rainey, 90, of Kissimmee, Florida, peacefully passed away on February 7, 2024. Born in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, she was the cherished daughter of the late Nathan and Ellastine (Simmons) Swinton, and loving wife to the late George Rainey, Sr. Helen was a devoted member of the Jehovah's Witness congregation, finding solace and community in her faith.
Throughout her life, Helen found joy in simple pleasures, embracing moments of creativity through her love of coloring, and relishing the opportunity to explore new places alongside her family. She had a playful spirit, evident in her fondness for BINGO games and her love for music, which always seemed to brighten her days. Even in her later years, she found a way to express her zest for life, delighting in the freedom of movement and rhythm as she danced in her wheelchair.
Helen's greatest source of happiness came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored with all her heart. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Helen is survived by her sons, Timothy A. Rainey and William L. Rainey; daughter, Jacquelyn J. (James) Gray; grandchildren, Colin Rainey, Timothy Rainey, Jr., Joshua Gray, Jessica Gray, and Briana Cole; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Rainey, Elizabeth Rainey, Coraline Rainey, Braxton Hofstetter, Tristan Gray, Asher Gray, and Naomi Cole; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Rainey.
In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by her son, George Melvin Rainey, Jr., and her three brothers and four sisters.
