Helen L. Crowl Freeze, age 100, of White Hall, MD, died on May 16, 2009 at her home. Born in Sullivan, IN, she was the daughter of the late John Hamilton and Maggie Lee Tabor Miller and wife of the late Norman Crowl and John Freeze. A graduate of Oxford Pennsylvania High School, she had worked for Stewarts Department Store as a salesperson. She was the oldest living member of Bethel Presbyterian Church and was a member and past Worthy Matron, of Parkton Chapter #42 of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Freeze is survived by her son-in-law, Jarrett Wiley of Jarrettsville, MD; sister, Virginia R. Niehaus of Boone, NC; two grandchildren, David Wiley of Forest Hill, MD and Lynne DiBastiani of White Hall, MD; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis Crowl Wiley, brothers, Henry E. and Frank H. Miller, and sisters, Thelma Perkins and Eulalia Boyd.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Wiley, David Wiley, Mark DiBastiani, Dennis Eyre, Richard Eyre, and Russell Eyre.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, 4135 Norrisville Road, White Hall, MD 21161 or to Eastern Star Chapter #42, 27 Independence Drive, New Freedom, PA 17349.
