Helen Jones Grayshan

HELEN JONES GRAYSHAN, age 88, of Bel Air, died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD on June 28, 2004. Born in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Henry Boyd, Sr. and Annie Cook Jones and the wife of the late Alvin W. Grayshan. She moved to Rutherford, New Jersey when she was 14 years of age and worked for the Borough of Rutherford, New Jersey from 1949 – 1975 where her last position was borough clerk. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rutherford, New Jersey for 40 years. She lived in Harford County, Maryland for 10 years.

Mrs. Grayshan is survived by two daughters, Lois G. Hoffer of Bel Air, Maryland and Elizabeth J. Grayshan of West Peterborough, New Hampshire; five grandchildren, Richard S. Hoffer, Jr. of Bel Air, Maryland, Geoffrey A. Hoffer of Cambridge, New York, Timothy J. Hoffer of Round Hill, Virginia, Michael B. Hoffer of Carolina Beach, North Carolina, and Stephen R. Frederick of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew P. Hoffer; a brother, H. Boyd Jones, Jr.; and three sisters, M. Elizabeth Cote, Catherine D. Larson, and Lucy Rae J. Franklin.

Graveside services will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst, New Jersey at a later date.
