Helen Elizabeth Ryan

HELEN ELIZABETH RYAN, age 84, of Abingdon, died at her residence on April 14, 2005. Born in Ellicott City, she was the daughter of the late William Charles and Mary Elizabeth Miller Cavey. She retired in 1996 from Mariner Health of Bel Air where she worked as a licensed practical nurse. She and her husband lived in Florida from 1967-78 and then moved back to Maryland. While in Florida she worked as an accountant for Resorts International. Upon moving back to Maryland, she made a career change and became a LPN. She enjoyed flowers and her church.

Mrs. Ryan is survived by her husband of 66 years, William Joseph Ryan; one son, William C. Ryan and his wife, Bonnie Reid Ryan of Joppatowne; one daughter, Rose Mary Hawley and her husband, Kenny Hawley of Melbourne, Florida; five sisters, Ruth Middleton of Catonsville, Edna Cavey of Catonsville, Nancy Morris of Dundalk, Delores Cavey of Catonsville, and Beverly Dietz of Carroll County, MD; six grandchildren, William A. Ryan of Joppatowne, Robert R. Ryan of Forest Hill, Susan R. Tobias of Abingdon, John R. Ryan of Darlington, Michael Hawley of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Khristie Wilson of Melbourne, Florida; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by seven brothers and three sisters.
