Helen Elizabeth Martin (Nee Townsley)

Helen Elizabeth Martin (nee Townsley) 86, of Joppa died November 9, 2012 surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness. Born January 11, 1926 in Joppa, she was the daughter of the late Louis Edward Townsley and Mary Alice Skillman Townsley. She was a 1943 graduate of Old Post Road High School after which she worked at Glen L. Martin for 25 years. In 1947, she married Latham O. Martin of Baltimore, her loving husband of 65 years. She was an active supporter of the Friends of Jerusalem Mill and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and dear neighbors.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by devoted nephew Jake Townsley and wife Anne of Westminster, Adoring great nieces Kati Townsley Biddinger and Beth Townsley Flanagan, and their families, all of Westminster. Sister-in-law Martha Lee Townsley, of Upperco, niece Audrey Harkins of Joppa and her family. She was predeceased by her brother Edward Elwood Townsley.
