Helen D. Garrigan

HELEN D. GARRIGAN, age 89, of Bel Air, MD, died on February 18, 2006 at her home. Born in Wilburton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Barney Linetty and Mary Agnes Washko Linetty. Mrs. Garrigan was the wife of the late Edward Joseph Garrigan. She was a registered nurse who graduated from the Ashland (PA) State Hospital School of Nursing in 1937. She moved to Harford County in 1959, and was employed by Harford Memorial Hospital as an operating room nurse from 1961 until 1978, serving as OR supervisor from 1963-1978. Friends described her time as OR supervisor as “legendary.” She was the office manager for her son, Richard Garrigan, a dentist practicing in Bel Air, MD, from 1978 until 2000. Her passion was watching CBS Soap Operas, and she loved to travel.

Mrs. Garrigan is survived by two sons, Dr. Richard C. Garrigan of Bel Air, MD and Thomas E. Garrigan of Joppa, MD; her sister-in-law, Mildred A. Linetty of Bel Air, MD; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Letcavage Kelleher of Wilmington, DE and Robert T. Garrigan of Abingdon, MD; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandra Kelleher and Max Kelleher, both of Wilmington, DE.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Helen Garrigan Letcavage.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Richard Garrigan, Thomas Garrigan, Robert Garrigan, Robert L. Letcavage and John Zalewski.
