Hazel Marie Choate

Hazel Marie Choate (nee Lundy), age 98, of Mayo, MD, formerly of Bel Air, MD, died on January 26, 2009 at her son's home. Born in Ennice, NC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Garfield and Josie Lorinda Williams Lundy and wife of the late William Posey Choate. A resident of Harford County since 1920, she had owned and operated the family farm, located on Choate Road in Fallston, MD, from 1930 to 1961. She retired from the Harford County Board of Education, after 20 years of service, where she was a teacher's aide. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, as well as, the Homemakers Club of Harford County, and had attended the Rural Women's Short Course at College Park.

Mrs. Choate is survived by her son, William H. Choate of Mayo, MD; three grandchildren, Lisa M. Swank of Bel Air, MD, Karen E. Ward of Silver Spring, MD, and Sarah L. Durbin of Buffalo, NY; and four great-grandsons.
