Hazel Combs

June 2, 1920 — April 7, 2015

Hazel Combs, 94, of Darlington, MD, passed away on April 7, 2015 at Lorien Riverside in Belcamp, MD. Born in Elk Creek, VA, she was the daughter of the late Emory Gleaves Copeland and Laura Elizabeth Hall Copeland and wife of the late Lewis H. Combs. During WWII she worked at BATA and later, along with her husband, she owned and operated Crescent Lawn Antiques in Darlington. She loved to crochet and was a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Combs is survived by her granddaughter, Kristin Ryan and husband, Paul; great-granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Ryan; great-great-grandson, Sean Strickland; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by loving son-in-law, C. Kenneth Peak. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Joyce A. Peak; and eight siblings.
