On June 4, 2012 at age 96, Hazel B. Wagner went home to be with the Lord. Born in Ennice, North Carolina on December 19, 1915 to the late Clyde W. and Emma Coomes Bedsaul. Hazel was the wife of the late Earl E. Wagner. Having been raised on a dairy farm, then marrying Earl in 1938 and living on several farms in the Bel Air area, she was no stranger to hard work and farm-life.
Hazel enjoyed her family and her life-time involvement with her church.. Together, Hazel and Earl were instrumental in starting Calvary Baptist of Bel Air and Edgewood Baptist Church. Hazel was the oldest living Charter Member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She had taught adult Sunday School for over 60 years. Hazel was a true Bible scholar; a wealth of biblical knowledge and always led a spirit-filled life.
Mrs. Wagner is survived by her three sons, Harvey E. Wagner of Bel Air, Carroll C. Wagner of Millington, MD, and Robert S. Wagner of Bel Air, MD, eight grandchildren and nineteen great- grandchildren. In addition, to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Lynn Bedsaul and sister, Edna Green.
Visitation will be held at McComas Funeral Home, P.A. in Bel Air, MD on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. and at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Bel Air, MD on Thursday, June 7 from 12 to 1 p.m. A celebration of her life will be at the church on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Harold L. Hubble and Rev. Robert V. Bullis, Jr. officiating. Mrs. Wagner will be laid to rest next to her husband in the adjoining church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her six grandsons.
