HARRY WESLEY BORCHERS, age 91, of Bel Air, formerly of Baltimore, died of respiratory failure in Mariner Health of Forest Hill on August 30, 2003. Born in Baltimore on May 10, 1912, he was the son of the late Harry Jordan and Mary Edna Wehrman Borchers. He married Delma Irene Warr in 1940. During WW II he served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater. After the war he raised his two children, Judy and Wesley, in the Hamilton section of Baltimore City. He was a member of the Rosedale V F W. He was a devoted father and worked at the Salvage Corps, Aristocrat Dairy, and St. Joseph’s Hospital. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, woodworking, and family gatherings. His wife of 47 years died in 1987.
Mr. Borchers is survived by one daughter, Judy D. Niles of Bel Air; one son, Wesley R. Borchers of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; three brothers, Melvin F. Borchers of Perry Hall; Donald E. Borchers of Lancaster, California; Jack R. Borchers of Putty Hill, Maryland; three grandchildren, Robin Ertel; Steven Niles; and Corey Borchers; and five great-grandchildren.
