Harry O. Beard

HARRY O. BEARD, age 86, of Bel Air, died at his residence on April 19, 2004. Born in Flintville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harry James and Hannah Mary Norris Beard and the husband of the late Elsie T. Schellhas Beard. He had retired after 17 years of service with Mohawk Contracting where he worked as a construction supervisor. A Boumi Shriner and Mason 32 degree, he was also a member of the V.F.W. Delta, Pennsylvania, the American Legion of Rosedale, and an active member of the American Wine Society. He enjoyed making wine. He learned to scuba dive at age 65, enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles, having conversations and a good argument. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II.

Mr. Beard is survived by one son, Richard A. Beard of Bel Air; two daughters, Lynne R. Beard of Westminster; Leslie B. Miller of Ephrata, Pennsylvania; and one granddaughter, Chloe A. Beard of Bel Air.
