HARRY MITZEL, age 82, of Joppa, MD, died on October 5, 2006, at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Harry Parker Mitzel Sr., and Edna Hinkle Mitzel. He was the husband to his first wife, the late Mary Jane Kreiner Mitzel, for 55 years. He was retired from Baltimore Transit Company, now M.T.A. where he was a bus driver. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Mitzel was a member of the VFW Post 6506 Rosedale Charles Evering Post, Mason Pickering Lodge # 147AF & AM, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Baltimore Forest # 45, Boumi Temple Shriners and Boumi Temple Drum and Bugle Corps, Knights Templar Baltimore, MD, Susquehanna Shrine Club, the Southern Maryland Shrine Club, where he was past-president, and various other Masonic organizations. He was an avid fisherman. He served his country in the U S Army during WW II.
Mr. Mitzel is survived by his wife of four years, R. Shirley Mitzel of Linthicum, MD; two daughters, E. Harriet Bohle and Helen T. Rossman, both of Joppa, MD; two stepsons, Roger J. Starsoneck of Linthicum, MD and Robert C. Starsoneck of Glen Burnie, MD; and two brothers, Melvin Mitzel of Granite, MD and Edmund Lee Mitzel of Towson, MD. He is also survived by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
