HARRY G. CAVE, JR., age 71, of Edgewood, died at his home on November 26, 2003. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Catherine V. Wharton Cave of Pasadena and the late Harry Grenville Cave, Sr. He served in the United States Navy from 1951-1971 in which he worked as a radioman. He was a decorated veteran of both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service. He also had a second career working for the Department of Defense at Aberdeen Proving Ground. He retired after 20 years with the Department of Defense as captain of security. He was a boy scout leader for many years and an artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, camping, fishing, and crabbing. He was a member of the V.F.W.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 50 years having just celebrated the fiftieth anniversary on November 7, 2003, Joan A. Bennett Cave; three sons, Harry R. Cave of Spotsylvania, Virginia; Kevin S. Cave of Edgewood; Timothy P. Cave of Delta, Pennsylvania; two daughters, Susan A. Giannini of Pylesville; Laura L. Simpson of Edgewood; one brother, Paul N. Cave, (location unknown); two sisters, Ruth Hicks of Denton, Maryland; Esther Birdsong of Pasadena; and 14 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Harry R. Cave, Kevin Cave, Timothy Cave, Anthony Giannini, Nicholas Giannini, and Nathan Giannini. Honorary pallbearers were: Albert Giannini and Frank Simpson.
