Harry ''Ed'' Whiteford

Harry (Ed) Whiteford, age 82, of Darlington, MD, passed away on July 4, 2013 at his home. Born in Whiteford, MD, he was the son of the late Harry E. and Etta Jones Whiteford. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he proudly served our country during the Korean Conflict. When he was younger, he enjoyed working on a farm with his father and brothers. He was formerly employed by Bata Shoe Company and had also worked for Grumman Aircraft Systems where he retired after 13 years of service as a maintenance technician. He enjoyed traveling to North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains and was a big Dale Earnhardt race fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Mr. Whiteford is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jean Whiteford; sons, William Whiteford of Fawn Grove, PA, Terry Bush of Darlington and Walter Bush Jr. of Mount Airy, NC; brothers, Robert Whiteford of York, PA and Milton Whiteford of Pylesville; sister, Ruth Ann Gragg of Forest Hill; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Whiteford.
