Harry Paul Donnelly, age 87, peacefully passed away at the Senator Bob Hooper House on January 13th. He was a Marine veteran, avid drag car racer and enthusiast, and lifelong Orioles baseball fan. Harry was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Harry A. Donnelly and Eleanor Donnelly; preceded in death by both parents and his beloved sister, Eleanor Floray. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 60 years, Evelyn Donnelly; loving daughter, Janet Kropp; cherished grandchildren, Brian Kropp and Rachel Kropp; many loving nieces and nephews.
His journey included retiring from Crown, Cork and Seal, and later finding fulfillment at Bel Air Auto Auction because of his love of cars. He loved cats as well, rescuing numerous strays and bringing them home.
He harbored a dream of creating a haven for animals, stating that if he won the lottery, he would open a large animal rescue farm where creatures of all kinds could find refuge and live out their days in comfort if they were not adopted.
Donations in his memory can be made to Fallston Animal Rescue Movement (FARM), P.O. Box 385, Fallston, MD 21047 or to the Senator Bob Hooper House, c/o Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation 520 Upper Chesapeake Drive, Suite 405, Bel Air, MD 21014.
May he rest in eternal peace, his spirit living on in the memories and hearts of those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
