Harrison Blackburn

Harrison Blackburn, age 90, of Reading, PA, died on May 12, 2009 at Berkshire Center in Reading, PA. Born in West Jefferson, NC, he was one of eleven children, born to the late Mack and Carmen DeBoard Blackburn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving our country in WWII. He married his wife of 62 years, Emily Wilson, in 1947 and they moved to Maryland where they resided for 50 years. He worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground, retiring from the Federal Government in the mid 1990's. After retirement, he was employed by Father Martin's Ashley Rehabilitation Center in Havre de Grace, MD.

Mr. Blackburn is survived by his wife, Emily Joyce Wilson Blackburn of Reading, PA; children, Thomas H. Blackburn and wife, Carmen Perry Blackburn, of Atlanta, GA, David H. Blackburn of Morganton, NC and Carolyn J. Blackburn of Reading, PA; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
