Harold Ray Spicer, age 89, of Joppa, MD, died on April 15, 2011 at his home. Born in Joppa, he was the son of the late James Elmer Spicer and Ella Ray. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a stone mason, and the owner and operator of his own business, from which he retired after 30 years. He also worked for Bel Air Auto Auction, and as a carpenter for many years. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed spending time at Ocean City.
Mr. Spicer is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Grant Spicer of Joppa, MD; daughter, JoAnn Weaver of Joppa, MD; sister, Jean Hanson of Joppa, MD; three grandchildren, Robert Weaver of Baldwin, MD, Michael Weaver of Kingsville, MD, and Travis Baldwin of Joppa, MD; and five great-grandchildren, Ross, Bryan, Katie, Sydney, and Molly. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Peggy Grant Spicer; and brothers, Lester and Buck Spicer.
