Harold R. Boccia, age 83, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on February 7, 2022 at his home in Bel Air. He was born in LaFollette, Tennessee and was the son of Theodore and Mildred (Sharp) Boccia and husband of Marcia (Townsley) Boccia.
He owned and operated Chesapeake Low Vision, Inc. which he started in 1989 and was open to the public and a second company, Sightline, Inc. which started in 1993 and operated out of Johns Hopkins Hospital. He retired in 2014. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Medical Corp stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. He was a member of Bel Air Lions Club where he spent many years selling Christmas Trees and he was chairman of the Bel Air 4th of July pancake breakfast for 22 years. He also served as District Governor from 2006-2007 and Council Chairperson of the Council of Governors of Multiple District 22-A. He was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church (Aberdeen). He was married for 41 years. He enjoyed coin collecting, photography, gardening, antiquing and going to the beach.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Karen (Gary) Davis of Forest Hill, MD; son, Douglas (Amy) Boccia of Baldwin, MD; grandchildren, Adam & Meghan Davis and Emma & Brock Boccia; brother, Dwane Boccia; father-in-law, H. Edward Townsley.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Goins and mother-in-law, Anita Elizabeth Townsley.
