Harold ''Hal'' T. Langford

May 28, 1923 — December 30, 2007

HAROLD “HAL” T. LANGFORD, age 84, of Bel Air, MD, died on December 30, 2007 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Pendleton, MO, he was the son of the late Opel and Helen Price Langford. He enlisted, at age 19, in the Army Air Corp where he was later discharged as a captain. He was a fighter pilot in WWII and flew 138 missions in 13 months. He flew in the South Pacific in the 342nd Fighter Squadron and the 348th Fighter Group. He worked his way through college after serving in the Army Air Force. In later years, his life revolved around his faith and family. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church.

Mr. Langford is survived by his wife, Val Arculeer Langford of Bel Air, MD; five sons, Thomas Langford of Bel Air, MD, James Langford of Portland, ME, John Langford of Seabrook, TX, Paul Langford of Manchester, MD, Phillip Langford of Jarrettsville, MD; three daughters, Ann Marie Foster of Accident, MD, Jeannette Stancill of Bel Air, MD and Mary Margaret Standish of Bel Air, MD; twin sister, Gerry Langford Wagner of Wilmette, IL; sixteen grandchildren, Sean Langford of Bel Air, MD, Lisa Porter of Towson, MD, Jennifer Gilligan of Hunt Valley, MD, Katie Langford of Portland, ME, Jason Carpenter of White Marsh, MD, Martine Holmes of Seabrook, TX, Daniel Langford, Rachael Langford, David Langford, all of Manchester, MD, Dawn Langford of Santa Monica, CA, Heather Langford of Jarrettsville, MD, Melissa Moore of Manchester, MD, Jason Moore stationed in Baghdad, Iraq, Nicole Standish, Courtney Standish, and Cameron Standish, all of Bel Air, MD; and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Therese Carpenter.
