HAROLD I. MASTER, of Bel Air, died January 28, 2008 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bel Air, MD. He was 83 years old. Mr. Master was the son of the late Raymond T. and Edith B. Master. Born on May 17, 1924 in Baltimore, Mr. Master grew up in Towson and graduated from Towson Catholic High School where he played LaCrosse and basketball. After serving in the Navy as a radioman aboard PBM's during WWII, he joined the reserves and was recalled to active duty in 1950 during the Korean War. Mr. Master was owner and cofounder of Wolbert and Master Inc., a company that deals in finn equipment and geo-textiles. He and his wife moved to Fallston in 1958 and resided there for a little over 45 years. They lived in a historic home that was originally built in the 1730's and made restorations to the house while living there. He was the first president of the Harford County Contractors Association and a member of Maryland Golf and Country Club. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Bel Air.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Elizabeth Butler Master of Chattanooga, TN; one daughter, Christine P. Master of Bel Air, MD; two sons, Thomas B. Master of Bel Air, MD and Mark G. Master of Fallston, MD; two grandsons, Thomas B. Master Jr. of Bel Air, MD and Justin Tyler Master of Fallston, MD; one granddaughter, Jordan A. Meadley of Boynton Beach, FL; and a sister, Virginia M. Donaldson of Carlsbad, CA with Rev. Richard J. Link officiating.
