H. Janice Nelson

H. Janice Nelson, age 82, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on September 23, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Ethel Lochboehler Gies. A 1949 graduate of Seton High School, she retired from the Harford County Government Procurement Office where she worked as a secretary. She volunteered for H&R Block preparing taxes for the elderly and was a member of the Bel Air Moose Lodge #1952 and the American Legion Post #39 Auxiliary. She collected bears and loved to play Bingo, dance, go to Atlantic City, work crossword puzzles, read and play cards.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert G. Nelson; children, Michelle Yousefi of Street, Jay M. Mallonee of Westminster, Mark S. Mallonee of Taneytown, Lauren A. Mason of Dover, PA, Bobby Mallonee of Westminster and Blair M. Mallonee Sr. of Airville, PA; stepdaughter, Janice L. Walton of Carmel, IN; sisters, Sister Madonna (Ethel) Gies, R.S.M. of Baltimore, Patricia Gies of Washington, DC, Shirley Dougher of Baltimore; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepdaughter, Linda Schwab; brothers, Robert Gies and Rev. Norman J. Gies; and sisters, Doris Cassidy, Elaine Flannagan, Mary Jane Tuite and Jacqueline McHugh.

Pallbearers will be Blair Mallonee Jr., Ben Garcia, Shahin, Jedidiah and Rephael Yousefi and Marty Simon.
