H. Blaine Linkous

March 23, 1933 — March 21, 2017

H. Blaine Linkous, age 83, of Fallston, MD passed away at his home on March 21, 2017. Born in Pylesville, MD he was the son of Thomas Pryor Linkous and Henrietta (Badders) Linkous. He was married to his best friend, Shirley Maines Linkous, for over 50 years. He was the owner of Harford Insulation and was prominent in the Maryland Home Builders Association. As an active member of Union Chapel UMC, he sang in the men's choir and served on numerous committees. His friends and family all agree that he was the kindest and nicest man you have ever met and would do anything for anyone. He was a giving person and anonymously helped many people throughout his life. He loved his family more than anything and they always came first. He volunteered at the homeless shelter where he would spend one night a month, and was involved in Operation Christmas Child, traveling to Charlotte, NC several years to pack shoeboxes. Blaine was a proud member of the first graduating class of North Harford High School in 1951. He loved attending the Highland School Alumni reunions. After his service in the U.S. Navy, he became a member of the V.F.W. He was a Mason and a member of the Harford Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America. As a lover of antique cars, his collection included a 1951 MG TD, a 1950 Chevy pickup truck and an antique Farmall tractor which he displayed at shows and drove in numerous parades. He would give anyone a ride and meant for everyone to enjoy them. He loved the beach and spending time at their cottage in Kitty Hawk, NC.

Mr. Linkous is survived by his wife, Shirley; his daughters Sondra Meinhardt and Mitzy Dillman, and their husbands Richard and Jim; grandchildren, Adam Meinhardt, Hope Meinhardt, Victoria Dillman and Natalie Dillman; and brothers Terry Linkous and Mike Linkous.

In addition to his parents, and his step-mother Grace Linkous, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lissa Meinhardt; his sister, Opal Whiteford Blair; and his brother, T. Vernon Linkous.
