With deep sadness, we request prayers for our family as we grieve the loss of our beloved sister, Gwendolyn Colleen Baxter. She departed this life suddenly on June 20th, 2024. Gwendolyn, “Sissy” as she was often called, was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland on September 21st, 1955. She was a 1974 graduate of North Harford High School. She was employed with the Maryland Mass Transit Administration as Executive Secretary of Inventory for 45 years. Gwen loved her job. Gwendolyn had a vibrant personality and a multitude of interests. She had a special fondness for watching television, particularly westerns and often snacked while she watched them.
Gwen leaves to be mourned by her brother Wendell Baxter of Abingdon, Maryland; sister Betty Baxter of Abingdon, Maryland; sister Roxanne Baxter-Hayhoe of Baltimore, Maryland, as well as uncles, aunts, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents Wendell Baxter Sr and Ethel Jiles-Baxter, in addition to her brother Donald Baxter and sister Burnadean Baxter-Jackson.
