Grace Evelyn Walker

Grace Evelyn Walker passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 92 years old. Grace was the devoted wife of the late C. Newton Walker. They shared nearly 60 years of marriage on their dairy farm in Fallston, Md. Grace was the youngest daughter of Henry Walbeck and Blanche Corbin Walbeck of Jarrettsville, Md. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Charles and Sam Walbeck and her sister Dolly Comer. Grace will long be remembered in the community. She was a long standing member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, active in the Womens Society and the Youth Fellowship. Her Volunteer work was endless. She drove a school bus for over twenty years, and became attached to the children. They called her Granny and may have kept in touch over the years. Family and friends were always welcome into her home. She was a great cook and baker, always having somthing to offer visitors. She decoreated many beautiful birthday cakes and her delicious fudge was always requested. Grace had a green thumb, enjoying her large vegetable garden and many flower gardens. She was beautiful insided and out - rarely seen without a necklace or lipstick. Grace and Newton enjoyed traveling. They belonged to a camping club and traveled around the country in their motor home. Grace enjoyed her travels, especially the scenery. She got a passport at the age of eighty eight. There was always more to see. She cherished her family and will be sadly missed by her children Janet Hocken, Mary Walker, Dorothy Brouwer ahd her husband Harm, Nancy Walker, Tami Atkins and her husband Larry, and Craig Dolinger and his wife Jody. Also her grandchildren Carma Henry, Arlene Hocken, Renee Moomey, Mark Brouwer, Randy Hocken and Stacey Davis; twelve great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; her boys Steve Six, Dennis and Dale Thomas, and of course her spoiled cat Grimmie. Visitation will be Monday October 9, 2017 from 5-8 PM and Tuesday October 10, 2017 from 10-11 AM at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 3345 Charles Street, Fallston, MD. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday October 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment in Bel Air Memorial Gardens 809 Rock Spring Road, Bel Air, MD. 21014.
