Glennwood C. Hubbard

March 10, 1938 — June 19, 2009

Glenn C. Hubbard, age 71, of Fallston, MD, died on June 19, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Cambridge, MD, he was the son of the late Leonard Robert Hubbard Sr. and Virginia Lee Crandell Hubbard. He was employed by Martin Marietta for over 30 years where he was a chemical technician working with Magnesia Specialties. A resident of the Eastern Shore for 48 years, he loved the Chesapeake Bay and was an adventurist. He would get in the car and travel, and had visited Europe twice. He was a member of the Senior League at Geneva Farms Golf Course and was past president of Sudlersville town commission. A sincere Christian, he was a Sunday school teacher for many years and was very giving of his time to help those who were in need. He was also a participant in the Sons of Norway Nordkap #215.

Mr. Hubbard is survived by his wife of 22 years, Rosa Rueckert Hubbard, of Fallston, MD; daughter, Cheryl Lynn Rash and husband, Mark J. Rash, of Wyoming, DE; step-daughter, Julie E. Wilcox and her husband, William L. Wilcox III, of Fallston, MD; son-in-law, Wayne Adkins and his wife, Lisa, and her son, Mark Hopkins, of Preston, MD; brother, Leonard R. Hubbard Jr. of Cambridge, MD; sister, Brenda Lee Elzey of Cambridge, MD; step-mother, Emma Arnie of Cambridge, MD; grandchildren, Rachel M. Adkins and Sarah L. Adkins of Preston, MD, Colby R. Rash and Logan B. Rash of Wyoming, DE, and Liam L. Wilcox and Callum L. Wilcox of Fallston, MD; and numerous family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife of 22 years, Charlotte L. Hubbard; his son, Douglas Glenn Hubbard; and his daughter, Karen Marie Adkins.

Pallbearers will be Mark J. Rash, William L. Wilcox III, J. Wayne Adkins, Jon Rueckert, Nils Rueckert, George Christian, Wayne Smith, Al Stewart, Leonard Hubbard, and Allen Elzey.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethel Wesleyan Church, 437 Main St., P.O. Box 141, Goldsboro, MD 21636.
