Glen Proffit

GLEN PROFFIT, age 87, of Joppa, died at Mariner Health in Bel Air on March 19, 2004. Born in Morehead, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Kelly and Lyda M. Berton Proffit. He retired after 30 years of service from Bethlehem Steel where he worked as a crane operator. A resident of Harford County for 22 years, he was a member of the Grandfathers Club in Dundalk and bowling leagues in both Edgewood and Dundalk. He enjoyed gardening.

Mr. Proffit is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bertha Bertan Proffit; three sons, Ransom Q. Proffit of Baltimore; Elby L. Proffit of Baltimore; Richard E. Proffit of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Glenda J. Shaver of Baltimore; Patricia S. Campbell of Baltimore; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was one of four children.
