Gladys Ilene Merrifield

Gladys Ilene Merrifield, age 90, of Forest Hill, MD was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 24, 2017. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of William Christopher and Emma Elizabeth (Berg) Pocock and was the wife of the late Harry Edward Merrifield Jr. She was an active member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Fallston where she formed the quilting ministry and made many prayer shawls. She was also involved with the CCBC Essex Senior Star Showcase where she performed Broadway musicals and made costumes.

Mrs. Merrifield is survived by her daughters, Dawn Lynn Voelker and Denise Ann Merrifield; son-in-laws, Ed Hornberger and Fred Voelker; four grandchildren, Jessica Leiser, Eddie (Michelle) Hornberger, Freddie (Lauren) Voelker and Hannah Rose Merrifield; great grandchildren, Brandon, Donny, Abby, Savannah and one on the way, Thomas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Gail Ilene Hornberger, brother, William Christopher Pocock; and sister, Thelma Johnson.
