Gladys G. Parks, age 83, of Street, MD, died on June 18, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Atkins, VA, she was the daughter of the late David Silvester and Florence Gurtrude Carter Overbay, and wife of the late Roy Gilbert Parks who she married on July 4, 1946. She had worked as a seamstress at Glen Eagles, a sewing factory in Bel Air, and as a silkscreener at Diversified Signs Inc. A past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 10146, she enjoyed shuffleboard, dancing and crocheting. She loved her children and family.
Mrs. Parks is survived by her children, Wilmer W. Parks and wife, Annice, of Stewart, VA, David G. Parks of Churchville, MD, and Douglas E. Parks and wife, Deb, of Street, MD; daughters, Wanda C. Hooper and husband, Frederick, Freda F. Ray, and Sandra J. Hamilton and husband, Kenneth, all of Street, MD; 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ken Hamilton Jr., Kevin Hamilton, Chad Grubb, Brian Hopkins, Scott Parks, and David Parks Jr.
