Gerda K. Hatem

GERDA K. HATEM, age 59, of Abingdon, died at her residence on December 11, 2004. Born in St. Peter am Kbg, Austria, she was the daughter of Irmgardt Hartleb Rottensteiner of St. Peter am Kbg, Austria and the late Franz Hartleb. She started an associate degree of nursing in 1979 and finished with her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner- CRNP- Master’s of Science- Nursing at the University of Maryland and worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital through 2004.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Hatem is survived by her husband of 35 years, John G. Hatem; one daughter, Maj. Vivian Katherina Schad, USAF, and her husband Benjamin of Gaithersburg; one brother, Franz Rottensteiner of St. Peter am Kbg, Austria; one sister, Trude Rottensteiner of Spain; and two grandchildren, Bronson Schad and Andrew Schad, both of Gaithersburg.
