Gerald Wayne Brackins, age 72, of Edgewood, MD passed away on December 17, 2012 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Joppa, MD, he was the son of the late George Wayne and Ivera Mary Smith Brackins. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during the Korean War. He was a longtime member of the Edgewood community, and had owned and operated Edgewood Cycles. He enjoyed taking motorcycle trips, being with his family and working around his home. He made many children happy by portraying Santa Claus at Christmas.
Mr. Brackins is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Michelle (Betty) Brackins; sons, Timothy Wayne Brackins of Edgewood, Eddie Jolly of Perryville, Mike Jolly of Darlington, Steve Jolly of Laurel, Ron Jolly of Monkton; daughters, Sherri Renee Cook of Savannah, GA, Tina Faye Brackins of Lawrenceville, GA and Deborah Jolly of Cardiff. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
