Georgina Marie Bantum

Georgina "Gina" Bantum, age 71 of Aberdeen, Maryland passed away November 19, 2023 at her home. Born in New York and raised in Long Island in Hempstead, NY, she was the daughter of Gloria Johnston and father unknown. Adopted later by Hemphil and Ruby Crosbie and later cared for by Milton and Joan Johnston. Gina graduated from the University of Maryland in 2012 with a bachelor's in science in Accounting. In her former years she worked as a day care provider for over 20 years and retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Contract Specialist after 13 years. Gina enjoyed giving back to the community. She was a PTA President, a President of the Aberdeen City Council (2001-2005), and a part of the Aberdeen Election Board.  

Gina is survived by her children, Royce Bailey, Lilani Bantum and daughter-in-law Joanne Bailey; grandson Myles Bailey; sister Catherine Crosbie and brother Russell Crosbie; brother-in-law Butch Bantum; Aunt Joan Johnston and cousins Cheryl Willois, Wendy Hobby and Heather Johnston-Eriksen.

In addition to her parents and adopted parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Bantum, III; brothers Ronald and Richard Crosbie; Uncle Milton Johnston; brother-in-law Karl Bantum and sister-in-law Yvonne Richardson.
