George F. Zook

September 7, 1938 — March 3, 2025

Bel Air

George F. Zook age 86, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away on March 3, 2025.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Frederick and Nancy (Miller) Zook and the beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Keeling) Zook.

George proudly served as a Lieutenant with the Maryland State Troopers and was a dedicated member of Winters Run Golf Club. He had a deep love for golf, often spending time at Winters Run and watching the sport on television right up until his final days. Along with his late wife, Marjorie, George was an avid tennis player, and together they enjoyed many years of active participation in both sports.

George’s life was further marked by his commitment to the Alcoholics Anonymous community. After joining A.A., he remained sober and actively involved for over 40 years, offering support and guidance to others on their own journeys.

He and Marjorie shared a love for travel, particularly enjoying their time as "snowbirds," spending two months at a time in the warm weather of Myrtle Beach and Florida. George also cherished his family, and many fond memories were made together on various family cruises.

He is survived by his loving family and will be remembered for his warm heart, dedication to others, and his enduring passion for golf and family.

George is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Norman) McMullen and his sister, Esther Besnoska.

In addition to his wife and parents, George was preceded in death by brothers, John Zook, David Zook, and his sisters, Patty Brown, and Mary Onheiser.
