George William Hein

GEORGE WILLIAM HEIN, age 89, of Bel Air, MD, died on June 28, 2008 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Edgewood, MD, he was the son of the late Henry and Lena Hein. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served our country during WWII and later served as commander of the American Legion, Post 17, in Edgewood, MD. He worked for the U.S. Army as a purchasing agent at Edgewood Arsenal from 1940 to 1973. He was an avid reader of history and often retold tales of Harford County.
Mr. Hein is survived by his wife of 65 years, Tavy Combs Hein of Bel Air, MD; a brother, Henry Robert Hein of Fallston, MD; a daughter, Joan Alice Cable of Churchville, MD; a son, William David Hein of Pasadena, MD; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Erin Nash of Christiansburg, VA, Christine Elizabeth Cable, D.V.M. of Bel Air, MD, and Ethan David Hein of Pasadena, MD.
