George William Addicks Jr.

GEORGE WILLIAM ADDICKS JR., age 85, of Joppa, MD, died on December 3, 2006 at Laurel Wood Care Center in Elkton, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late George William Addicks Sr. and the late Jessie M. Garrison Rosen and was the husband of the late Clara F. Kearney Addicks. He was a Navy veteran who served our country during WWII. He worked as a diesel mechanic in the steel manufacturing industry and was also employed with the National Hot Rod Association. As an avid drag racing and motorcycle enthusiast, he managed Capital Raceway and York US 30 Dragway.

Mr. Addicks is survived by two sons, Wayne T. Addicks of Joppa, MD and Jerry L. Addicks of Bel Air, MD; three daughters, Sherrie L. Simpson of Prospect Park, PA, Suzette L. Butler of Lincoln, PA and Joyce Heller of Bracey, VA; two brothers, Ronald Addicks of Rosedale, MD and Robert Addicks of Baltimore, MD; one sister, Shirley Evans of Baltimore, MD; and seven grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Loretta Shuff; and a brother, V. Gordon Addicks.
