George H. Emmel Jr.

GEORGE H. EMMEL JR., age 94, of Joppa, MD, died on January 15, 2008 at his home. Born in Hamilton, MD, he was the son of the late George Henry Emmel Sr. and the late Emily Waldon Emmel. He retired from Glen L. Martins where he was an engineer and had also served in the Air National Guard. He was a member of Franklinville Presbyterian Church and a past member and ambulance driver for Joppa Magnolia Fire Company. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps.

Mr. Emmel is survived by his wife, Ellarose Elizabeth Emmel of Joppa, MD; a son, George “Jerry” H. Emmel III of Joppa, MD; two grandchildren, Kim A. Williams of Kingsville, MD and George H. Emmel IV of Joppa, MD; and seven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn A. Kaiser, Thomas J. Kaiser, Kristen D. Williams, Kay D. Williams, all of Kingsville, MD, Azalee H. Emmel, Angeline N. Emmel and George “Hank” H. Emmel V, all of Joppa, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, David S. Emmel and two brothers, Albert and Arthur Emmel.
