George F. Rhoads "Bud", age 80, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on May 15, 2012 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late George and Dorothy Mae McComsey Rhoads. A resident of Harford County for 58 years, he retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground as the Chief of Training Aids and Devices. After retiring from the government he worked as a General Contractor. He was a member of the American Legion in Aberdeen and the Otter Point Yacht Club and enjoyed fishing, hunting and building boats.
Mr. Rhoads is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose M. Rhoads of Abingdon, MD; son, Lance Rhoads and wife, Maria, of West Chester, PA; daughter, Pamela Serino of Alexandria, VA; sisters, Charlotte Graham of Lancaster, PA, Sylvia Moore of Bel Air, MD and Julia DuBois of Forest Hill, MD; and four grandchildren, Alexandra Serino, Kirsten Rhoads, Bradley Rhoads and Rachel Rhoads. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Marian Rhoads.
