George E. Heckner

George E. Heckner, age 93, of Kingsville, MD, passed away on January 15, 2013 at Copper Ridge in Sykesville, MD. Born in Joppa, MD, he was the son of the late George Emil Heckner Sr. and Nora Kedian Heckner and husband of the late Ella Louise Poole Heckner. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during WWII. He retired from Edgewood Arsenal as a sheet metal technician in 1974. Also a charter member of the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Heckner is survived by his sons, John P. Heckner of Jarrettsville and Bob Heckner of Kingsville; daughters, Nancy Moorefield of Kingsville, Sherry Jones of White Hall and Mary Lou Gregg of Bel Air; brothers, Edward Heckner of Forest Hill and William Heckner of Fallston; sister, Margaret Rehkemper of Berlin, MD; grandchildren, Michael Heckner, Richard Heckner, Diana Heckner Jeffcoat, Carin Moorefield, Brent Moorefield, Meghan Jones and Matthew Jones; and great-grandchildren, Jenna Heckner, Brandon Arnett, Connor Heckner and Taylor Heckner. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, Freddy Heckner; brother, Fritz Heckner and sister, Kitty Heckner.
