GEORGE “DICK” DIXON RODES CURRY, age 63, of Fallston, MD, died on August 19, 2006 at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Harley Oliver Curry, Jr., and the late Jessie Howard Rodes Curry. He was a commercial pilot and a certified private and commercial flight instructor. He served 13 years in the USS Navy, including service aboard the USS Torsk SS-423 and “Plank Owner” USS Puffer SSN-652. He was a PBR Boat Captain with Naval Special Operations. Mr. Curry was a founding member of the Harford Computer Club, and a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol Harford Squadron for 10 years. He enjoyed automobile racing, was an avid reader, loved music and watching old movies.
Mr. Curry is survived by his wife, Diane Bulthuis Curry of Fallston, MD; one daughter, Dawn Marie Oberdalhoff of Jacobus, PA; one son, George Michael Curry of Bel Air, MD; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steven Button, John Caldwell, Jason Oberdalhoff, Chris Oberdalhoff, Jacob Oberdalhoff, Don Zantop, and Paul McElhiney.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 10946 Beaver Dam Road, Suite E, Hunt Valley, MD 21030.
